Norwalk Transit District Pulse Point Safety and Security Improvements
Start Date: March, 2010
Scheduled to Finish: July, 2011
Supervisor: Lamont Thomas
The Norwalk Pulse Point Bus Station project had inadequate safety, security, shelter, lighting, rider information and customer amenities. The scope of the project is to build a canopy over the 300’ length of the pulse point, add security cameras, reconstruct the sidewalk and street, add shelters, seating, explosion proof garbage receptacles and other passengers amenities. The lighting will be an eco-friendly, state of the art LED lighting system. Canopies have been designed and are to be installed by Birdair, Inc with steel infrastructure to provide an aesthetically pleasing look as well as protection from the ever changing climates.
The project not only enhances transit security, but encourages the use of the transit system in Norwalk, thus accessing jobs, medical and education much easier to ensure positive impact on the economic development of the state.
The funds are sourced from the American Recovery Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Waters Construction is proud to be part of a project that not only encourages safety and security, but also an economic upturn for the state of Connecticut.
